Daily Tech: Windows Vista Activation Cracked Yet Again

"another exploit that allows users to permanently activate Windows Vista using crack files and some registry trickery. The TimeStop Vista cracks only works on 32-bit versions of Windows Vista, so those looking to crack 64-bit versions of the operating system may be out of luck. The crack effectively stops the countdown times to mandatory Vista activation and freezes the countdown timer at 43,200 minutes (30 days). The countdown timer will not reduce any lower than 30 days."

The best bit:

"Despite Microsoft’s best efforts to shut down this latest exploit, it does leave us wondering just how secure this new operating system if it can be poked at and prodded this early after release."

ppl that are willing to buy a new version in a year or two's time when 4Gb of ram becomes the norm and want my higher compatability with the apps and hardware that exist today, rather than having to wait for companies to release the drivers and patches required.

atm 2Gb is enough for gaming at least, although vista may chnage that, when vista + bf2142 = 1.5-1.7Gb of ram useage.

not sure if my vista 64 machine will be 4Gb yet... have to see what happens.

Bit of an exaggeration there :P, 1gb should be fine for all games at the moment unless your computer is full of crap that slows it down :).

u havent played some of the modern games on full settings !
dark messiah of the might and magic (online particuarly), most people use 2GB.. 1GB will really slow ya down.. coz it uses the new source engine which is veeeery graphically intensive

How many time have people said ahhh that's plenty. Agreed it is enough now but to take advantage of dx 10 and the many hundreds of on screen characters that promises (allows), will 2GB or 4 be enough then? aha. Look to the future people.
