Post subject:  windows 2003 server sp 2 and IIS

We have a new website at work that that runs on windows server 2003. For some stage reason it keeps crashing to the outside world but is visible internally. Our site monitoring software reports TCP connection failure.

This can be resolved by repairing the NIC. We have tried everything to resolve this including turning off autonegotiation. Anyone got any ideas.

does it allow any other traffic through the NIC ?

if it is the NIC why not replace it ?
or is it same NIC for internal and external access ?

2 different nics one internal one external. The external one is the one that needs a repair done every night. Its a new card and new server but I guess it could be the card.

i had a nic that would fall asleep if no traffic passed - just set a ping running and it was fine after that ( starts at boot now )
never did find out why

SP2 screws up some of the Broadcom NICs I believe

Has it got a firewall on - if so try http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -US;927695
