Post subject:  Virtual Box

Im learning to use linux, fedora core 5... its what my dad uses...

But im using Virtual Box to run the FC5...
When i go into settings and select everything it seems ok...

When i run it though i press F12 for the bootup ... and select CD-ROM ... i have an external CD Drive ... does this effect the bootup of the CD? Because it says it fails to load boot medium... or something along those lines, played around with the settings and it just doesn't seem to want to play ball

Use VMWare, it works.

Sorry if that's an unhelpful answer, but I've installed VMs successfully on both windows and ubuntu (opposites on both) with zero hindrance.

No worries fella, basically what happened was we selected everything correctly but when opening i had to mount the CD thats basically what was happening and the reason the error was occurring a bit lame it didnt do it automatically...

XP can run virtual pc 2007 and host vista and linux.

Really like virtual machines, in fact at work all our Dev and QA Servers were on Virtual Server and they ran really smooth.

But VMWare are doing some fantastic stuff with virtual machines these days

VMware is pretty funky, especially with P2V migrations :)
