Fantastic chip.
Runs cooler than my old overclocked 6300 at the same frequency 2.67 (mild overclock froom standard 2.4). Have been running Folding SMP for the last 24 hours and with all 4 cores loaded the whole time temp hasnt gone above 55. sits below 40 at idle.
Was running single core Folding, windows 2003 vpc and playing cs at the same time yesterday as well as having a few apps open and it didnt miss a beat.
Outstanding piece of kit. yes colt i know your mac has 2 of em drools

E6750... same clock speed, but new tech. The E6750 is 1333MHz Buss speed, not the 1066MHz. Also its a hell of a lot cheaper. > . >

That new Penryn QX9650 is a nice bit of kit, a real technological marvel of the modern world, "Oh I've come over all Victorian just reading about it".
A faazand bucks though *sucks in air like a used car salesman.*

hehe yes they are expensive.
Penryn is a die shrink and SSE4 not really a new architecture and clock for clock they dont outperform current quads unless its a cache intensive program. They do however use less power and run a lot cooler.
THey have released a 95W Quad and the FSB speed doesnt affect it to much. Anyways you just increase the FSB anyways and mine will run at 1333 no problem.

I'm ordering myself the Q6600 at the weekend. I've heard that it overclocks like magic upto 3Ghz without thinking. I'm also ordering the entire rest of the PC at the same time so might ask for some advice!
This is on it's way right now

Altho this one dont really out perform the Q6600... But Atleast it's here finally.. I'm actually waiting for the better versions (better clock speeds) to test out, As i have a few people who want em. And being a PC tech i cant wait for that as all my gaming Rigs have been AMD. BUT credit to Intel... there Quad's are fantasic for gaming and encoding etc... and are sure winners at this point in time. But i hope AMD will compete better.. coz even there Quad's out now arent doing it.. And its always healthy to have 2 big company's competing. (well good for us...as they try to out do each other on price)
