The aim: To show two COD4 demo videos AT ONCE.
The sources: 2xAVI's recorded FROM the demo files using Fraps.

Looking for a way (ON ANY PLATFORM) to show them side-by-side and then export THAT to a "master" avi or whatever format.

Prefer it to be open-source. Any suggestions?

I looked at that BUT doesn't have what I need. Good for processing video but NOT non-linear editing.

Yes, I looked at the vid clip there and Vegas IS EXACTLY what I want to use. Just don't have 500-odd quid (which woiuld be DOUBLE here  :pale:) to buy it (As MUCH as I'd looove to, I couldn't get the use I want OUT of it. :()

Going to see whay jahshaka can do for me and will prolly install cinerella (along with Ubuntu ) to see IF that can solve the problem too. :thumbl:

Just out of curiosity, know of any other software (not necesarily open-source or free) that might suit this need?

Can it not be done in Windows Movie Maker? each clip on its own timeline, then resize?
How I do it in Premiere.

Off out so can't check now.

Windows Movie Maker cannot have more than one video timeline. Otherwise, this thread wouldn't exist. Unless I'm missing something with Windows Movie Maker

 Heathen! :P

It is fairly easy to do in Premier, if you grab the demo of the program and want to give it a go I can point you in the right direction..
