i was keeping an eye on these. ati got there first with dx 11 and eyefinity, however, the ati card is an updated 4000 series card and the nvidia is a true dx 11 card designed from the ground up and has triple monitor support as well so it should be better card, but it may take a bit of refinement. and the nvidia will also do 3d, however to do 3d properly, you will need a proper 120 hz monitor and idealy 3 of them for the 3d surround, which means it needs to do twice the framerate of non3d cards, ie 60 fps per eye, 120 fps.
Another issue with nvidia is that you MUST HAVE SLI to do triple monitor where ati can do it with one card, but in practice you need dual cards if you want to run modern games at a high framerate anyway. But they also say that the 200 series cards will be able to do triple monitor with a driver update,
I perfer nvidia to ati mostly because i have very little probems with nvidia especially in sli compared to ati, and i really like the way you can set a profile for each game which is something ati need to sort.
as for pricing? the top ati card is 550 pounds list price, but that may go up as there will be a shortage of cards. and for nvidia, no one knows yet, but they have said that they will be competivly priced, so probably around the same.

I too prefer Nvidia, ATi have given me too many issues in the past, drivers etc. Seems this is still the case now. Note to all computer type companies. Please spend less cash on fancy hardware and more cash on making decent games and getting the basic stuff right. After that, feel free to do the fancy stuff.
