The Apple iPad. The one device that will kill ALL "tablet PC's" in the marketplace. Allegedly. The US already have the Wi-Fi version (of course), Australia and UK are pre-order May 10, TBA release date. Should be interesting to see what happens next. So, anyone going to pre-order one?

Also interesting that no UK price has been announced. I wonder what it will be priced at! As for getting one - what on earth for? I, personally, don't see any use in my life for one of them. |

already have an ipod touch and at least that one's actually portable  as far as i know the only differences are the size and probably more powerful specs right? featurewise it's pretty much the same?

only intrested if it can display rgo files as i have about 20000 books on my pda and woulndnt mind something a little bigger. and if they fix the wifi |

Nope Now if they added multi-tasking to it then possibly.....I don't get why all these companies are struggling to get multi-tasking right on all their smart phones, pads etc. (Official at least) |

they are going to be making a smaller version and im sure there will be a staggered release of a 3g & 3gs version so the early adodpters can help boost the sales oh and the wifi problem... Steve says move closer to your router |

the lack of multi-tasking is supposed to be fixed in the next ipod/iphone/ipad firmware update (4.0)

Surely the price should be US converted into UK (considering it's probably being shipped from the Far East, there won't be much difference in shipping costs, apart from the cost of Piracy around Africa Yarr! ) as the production/manufacture cost is relatively static is it not? So surely the delay is more to do with working out how much they can mark it up without going too far
