but anway - its a games console which actually offers something above _any other games machine available on the market_. Thats the key point that puts it above the 360. The games are good fun, even by yourself, though they are best enjoyed in company. There are 'real' games (Far Cry, COD3, NFS Carbon etc) and there are very childish games, but which can still be enjoyed by adults.
It is perhaps unfair to say that the 360 is a crippled PC (even if that is what it appears to be) because MS never marketed it as a PC. However, it is much less powerful than a PC.

I just think with the limited online support it had at the moment and the delays nintendo has with most games (metroid, paper mario) it isnt the tour de force people make it out to be

Online support?
It isn't supposed to be like a 360.......
It's for solo and group play at the actual console....not via the web.
If the Wii's better than the playstation Eye Toy then well..... 
It's unique, it's fun and it's best played in company but then as people have said it can still be played solo.

The Wii is a fun console but since having from launch i have become tired of not being able to have a challenging gaming experience. Also I would hardly call it unique when Sony manage to implement the same system in their console maybe to a different extent but with the same core idea. I think also the Wii is not a push forward in gaming but instead the exact opposite all it does is bring a new generation of people to spend money on nintendo products where as the Xbox and PS3 are actually pushing forward for the real gamers not just the fair weather players.

wow this is getting a bit heated........
at the end of the day you will either be leaning one way or the other
and dont matter how much the other side will say whe wii is better
or the x-box/ps3 is better they wont ever change your mind.
t b h i cant say out about the ps3 as i have never looked at 1
but i no so many peeps with an x-box/360 and they have nothing but
probs with them. imo when u buy a console u dont expect it to bust
after a year or 2 u wont it to run forever.
i mean look i still have a nes/snes some were and they work fine
aswell i no peeps with saga's that still work.
any how bilbo are u getting mario strikers? im picking mine up tomorrow
so we will have to get together for a game.
BTW.... WII FTW!!!!

Still got a SNES, NES and Sega.....would have a commodore...atari , my original NES and SNES if they hadn't been put out.

Have you tried the challenging games? Like COD3 and Far Cry?
SONY HAVE NOT IMPLEMENTED THE SAME SYSTEM! They have a cruddy little thing which can detect tilting, no-where NEAR as advanced as the Wii's (and hear speaks someone who has been building an inertial measurement unit for the past 6 months...)
What does the 360 and PS3 offer above anything on the market? Nothing - the graphics are the same as PC, the online gameplay is the same as the PC - sure, they're a hell of a lot better than the PS2/Xbox, but there's nowt much new that isn't there before.
Wheras you try and find a parallel to the Wii on the market...there is none. And because the Wii is a good console, it must also be a good step forward in gaming.
Also, why do you think they won't be out in time?
(to clarify, I'm not being patronising or condescending, I'm just angry  )
