TAP Air Portugal as decomissioned their Aibus A310 planes on 2007/2008, one of the last flights of one of ze A310 was on Evora Air Show in 2007.... Some say there was this dialogue between the Control Tower and the pilot during the first low pass of the A310... Control Tower - TAP A310 you have permission to low pass runaway 18 ...Please lower the landing gear.. Pilot - Landing gear is for pussies ... afaik, the onboard computer has a fit if you try to go to fast with the landing gear down. so thats probably why he kept it up. and why the flyby with the gear up was so much faster. It was also why that a320 crashed years ago during the airshow, computer tought it was landing as the gear was down |
