1080i is basically half the information from a 1080P signal flashed back and forth, its kinda lame tbh as its basically still running at 1366x768

whereas 1080P is full 1920x1080 pixels, but still dragoncarp is right, although its a massive jump in pixels, it still takes a trained eye to distinguish between the two

yeh 60 times a second, if your eyes can tell the differance between p and i on a retail grade t.v i would be very suprised, i certainly cant and its my job to do these kinda things. the only differance you might see is if you put two identical screen next to one another with p an i is a refresh flicker on the i running at 60Hz, kinda like when you put an old CRT running at 100Hz next to a screen running at 50Hz.

1080i is i spose in theory a 960*540p image updating at 60Hz, much higher than PAL running at 720*576i. thats where you see the differance.

as most sources are currently 1080i thats what we have become used to (xbox360, sky HD etc) maybe we just need time to adjust to 1080p where currently the only true source is Blu Ray, HD DVD and most noticable DigiBeta HD.
