Been looking through EBAY for a 2nd Radeon 5850 seeing as my mobo has 2 full speed 16x PCIe slots ,not sure if I will bother yet but my 750w PSU should handle it ok.

Im toying with the idea of getting a second 580,it's my 30th next month and even tho ive had my prezzie from the mrs ive told her to tell everyone else that was gonna buy somot to give me money instead.

Dual? How dare you, 3 way 580's 3gb's hyro's ftw.  Try 1 card first and then see. they say that you can max it out with dual 580's but they also said that it will perform very similer to bc2. And it will depend on your monitor, not much point on dual 580's if you are running at 1024x768 _________________

er, the beta used up to 2.8gigs when maxed out, but it easily maxed out the 1.5gigs on my 480's

playing with the idea....as i want to max out bf3.... would be tempting to get like 2x560's or 570's ........then upgrade when the next gen comes out........
a 580 is arguable not bang for buck.....

Nope, msi afterburner vram at 2.8 gigs, but even at low detail its around 1.4gigs, But the beta was very poorly optimized. and its duplicated per card when in sli.
so 3 x 3gb cards is still only 3gb vram, not 9. each card has to store the same frames
