i have a A64 4000 with 2 GB
mine cpu on bf1942 is around 97% to 99% - game plays smooth cpu is just devoting all run time to it - nout up with that

(even when your on the mainmenu though?? without playing?
i just noticed something
thats incorrect... and its a red thing next to it... 
should be larger to reflect my 2.4ghz athlon no? _________________ ----------------------------------------

(it doesn't always read the exact speed correctly in this case)

well what keeps happening is...i'll be playing for 10 mins and it will crash to dekstop - no error message..

well i seem to be playing it reasonably ok now... the crashes were more frequent the other night... still get them but less often..

I always found them to be sound/video driver problems

Don't suppose you get lag and then you're sound goes bust? (All the shots etc keep repeating, even some that happened 5 mins before hand.

no, just a crash to desktop, the good thing at least is that i can load it back up within a minute or so.. so it isn't too bad..

I am sure back in the good old days, there was a setting in the sound menu that caused this problem.
Sorry I am in work so cannot check.
I think something had to be unticked, something like accellerated sound or sumfin like that.

have the latest of both video and sound drivers/codecs
and sound option ticked off for hardware acceleration
