but surely there shouldnt be a neeed to buy new coolers for it?? i mean i havnt overclocked it at alll......or have I???
Or maybe there'sa safety feature bulit into the system, to shut down at a certain, low, temperature???

dont think so, its gt a 120mm fan on it, actually, it wont be that as it shuts down to desktop most of the time

First get coolbits:

i have a 6600gt and it has got that, (Safety shutdown) you can Adjust it:
Right click desktop/Properties/Settings/Advanced
Then in the top right corner it should say your cards name
Click on that tab
Then it should say somewhere on the right:
Tempreture settings and you can adjust from there

it says the core slow down temp is 115 C, and the current temp is 44 C but theres no option to change anything  _________________
