bah... ridding the hell out of my opteron 175 on socket 939...
but the old girl still competes with the big guns - my 1950pro is suffering but with max overclock on the cpu and gfx, qw works like a charm...
still prefer tf2 though... but then again i'm a css and "all things valve" fanboy!
wish i could be like slappy and dish out millions for my rig but i have a limiting factor called "the wife"...
hmm... 1994 - i think i was still on my 486 back then --- which was probly kicking slappy's pentium90 ass too!

Peh... 6600... should have got the 6750 and OCed it like a biatch.
Nawwww... good system
I have a BFG 8800GTS 640MB Factory OC at 550MHz, had it since february... only had problems with nVidia not releasing their drivers for 6 months since they released the card, after that... NEVER had a problem. But... if its bothering you that much, one thing I have noticed with previous nVidia cards... is that they don't like rendering shadows in certain games.

If you mean ETQW can you tell me what settings you use? I've tried every combination of settings and resolution etc with ETQW using a 2900XT and Vista and it's never as smooth as something like DC or anything Source engine based..
Kinda puts me off playing it as well..

19" tft @ 1440*900, 2mb ddr 800 memory, am2 6000 cpu, ati 2900 gpu, crossfire mobo, nothing overclocked not fiddled with ingame setting apart from setting the res. Seems to run smoother than tf2 to be honest.

The right click lag... uhhh... does it happen ALL the time... or just the first couple times when you load the PC..? I mean mine will do it from time to time, mainly when I've just booted or exited a Memory heavy application. I usually just right click a couple things (folder, desktop, background in folder etc) once and its lightning fast after that.
But I have had a problem with constant lag in that area... found out that if I unplugged the net cable it fixes that. So its probs not a memory or gfx card issue.

I get well over 50-60 fps normally so it's not a graphical problem I think, must be something else... Yeah that's what I get when the game tries to load up the game and then again when it tries to load a map, just hangs up totally for about a minute or so, then plays really jerky once in the game...

a mate had the same problem during the beta, there was a helpful post pointing to the correct drivers required on the ETQW community site (which did totally resolve it), but can't find it anymore...
