I'd say it's a dodgy part. Try and find out whether it's the motherboard connection, PSU or graphics card then RMA it.

Maybe it's a doggy power cable (those two you use to connect to the videocard). If you have a spair set try to switching them.

The new motherboard I got has a 4 pin molex connector for pci power on the motherboad that is independent of the graphics card power connectors.

Does your MB have something like this. I hadnt seen it before

i followed manual through step by step (for a change) and pluged everything in with everything... plugged every power cable i had into something if i could... the card has 2 onboard power cables that go straight into it and nothing else on the loop... also the mobo had all connecters (that were power) plugged up with the cables for it...) :? :(

I had a message before like that with an 7800GTX.. after much swapping out of drivers and PSU's etc it came down to a faulty card.
Started getting the error when playing any 3D game occasionally, then over the course of a couple of weeks it got more frequent to the point when I'd get it a few minutes after Windows started when not even running any apps.

Sounds like yours could be heading the same way..? :?

well i got it when i first put it in... and then i click ok... and then have no problems till i turn it on again the next day... in cod4 and prostreet i have noticed glitching in the games itself... in cod4 its things disappearing and then reappearing near as instant... and on prostreet its the tracks disappearing.

only thing is i also alt tab outta game to check emails, msn messages... at which may also cause it like in CSS it gives u some purple textures...

any ideas how many fps i should get in css? (2.66ghz dual core, 2gb ram, 8800gtx) then i could work out how much preformance i am loosing out on it...

another thing is i can never seem to get the tempreture up above 53'c... and it sits idle at 50'c which is normal... but running cod4 on full should push it up really high (Was speaking to galzie once about it... his reacted 96'c and then he turned his game off) and mine doesnt budge above 53 :? which would also suggest a faulty card right?
