I'd say it's a dodgy part. Try and find out whether it's the motherboard connection, PSU or graphics card then RMA it.

just as a thought...you tried using 2 alternate powers feeds to your card...?
ie..use one that in the hd..

Maybe it's a doggy power cable (those two you use to connect to the videocard). If you have a spair set try to switching them.

*bump* still not working correctly... doesnt pop up anymore but when i lock my pc it is there when it is coming out of the desktop... any more ideas?

The new motherboard I got has a 4 pin molex connector for pci power on the motherboad that is independent of the graphics card power connectors.
Does your MB have something like this. I hadnt seen it before

I had a message before like that with an 7800GTX.. after much swapping out of drivers and PSU's etc it came down to a faulty card. Started getting the error when playing any 3D game occasionally, then over the course of a couple of weeks it got more frequent to the point when I'd get it a few minutes after Windows started when not even running any apps. Sounds like yours could be heading the same way..? _________________
