Does going to tools/downloads show you the item??

If so can you remove it from there, or can you even resume the download??

Sometimes if you close the firefox window it will still be running...

Go to the Task Manager, stop the Firefox.exe process and you should be able to delete the file then.

Hope it helps.

assuming you're on Windows XP and have an NTFS file system....

try something along the lines of this to reclaim ownership of your file....

take ownership/change permissions then you should be able to delete it, rename it, whatever you want
