I was downloading something using firefox, and it crashed. I now have an icon on my desktop which i cannot delete, as it claims it is being used by another program (even when firefox is closed) how do i get rid of it!? |

Does going to tools/downloads show you the item?? If so can you remove it from there, or can you even resume the download?? |

nah, its dissapeared on the downloads, if i redownload it it downloads it as #filename(2) |

Sometimes if you close the firefox window it will still be running... Go to the Task Manager, stop the Firefox.exe process and you should be able to delete the file then. Hope it helps. |

assuming you're on Windows XP and have an NTFS file system.... try something along the lines of this to reclaim ownership of your file.... take ownership/change permissions then you should be able to delete it, rename it, whatever you want |
