Yes, but SATA I can link together and it's also go a little but noticable bit more performance. Right now, the read/write mechanism of HDDs is the limiting factor of their speed. Changing the interface (SATA/PATA) doesn't affect the speed at all as Para pointed out, because the internal part of the drive is identical to it's PATA equivalent (take note, all SATA drives are IDE drives, just different interface Serial/Parallel ATA). The only difference so far is that SATA has a very slight write speed advantage over PATA but slightly slower on read speed. BTW, how do you 'link together' SATA drives? |
