Is that the one with the restrictions on how much you download? What about if you exceed your limit any problems? |

best checking first to see what speed you can get in your area, that is if you go adsl http://www.bt.com/broadband/bb_info.jsp?vendorid=DGA if you can't get 8 meg on your line as it stands right now, you may have problems with your connection, as they try to work out what your max line speed is, this usually lasts for about 2 weeks |

BT have an excellent usage thingy.... If you go over once, they ignore it (so long as its just a bit over) If you carry on doing it, they either cap you to 256k or cut you off (depending on how much you've done it) and then you can buy extra GB of capacity BT FTW! |

I use NTL, 1mb cable, no rpoblems fer me. As for download limits, I have no idea, but nothing has happened to my Broadband, so they either don't care or I don't download as much as I tend to believe. |

mine is telewest - wouldn't fault it now, fast reliable and unrestricted, but wouldn't necessarily recommend it (it's had it's moments!) |

I use Nildram, monthly contract capped to 50gb peak time dl per month (im a torrent whore and never got close to that figure yet) I used to be with BT but quit because their customer service is diabolical (and I'm perfectly placed to have such an opinion because I work for them !) |

whilst on question of ISP, i 'registered my interest' on the BT website to upgrade to 8mb, about 4-5 weeks ago and haven't been upgraded yet, will they bump me up or do i need to take more action? |

You should get an email telling you when its available. I think then you need to re-order the package you are already on, then it will be upped to the max. speed. |
