Post subject: | AMD Athlon X2 4200+ Dual Core Overclocking |
Hello. i have a AMD Athlon X2 4200+ Dual Core at 2.2ghz and i want to over clock it to about 2.4ghz but i dont know how and it seems like the bios has locked the overclocking feature, can i unlock this? Also would i need any extra cooling if i overclocked it because it only has the fans that came with it. http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF06b/35123-35527-187917-187917-187917-12357186-73392931.html Regards, Richard |

I wouldnt attempt to overclock it because its a pre-built PC, and all sorts of funny shizzle can happen. I personally have only overclocked PCs made by myself, optherwise it could just go pear shaped. |

Any suggestions mr chris i have the same motherboard as you, just read the features, you will see in the bios it has an auto oc'ing feature, i havent done it yet but its supposed to have a safegard which stops it from going wrong, have a look and look im your manual for your motherboard, it should say more there |

I used to go on another forum alot before this, they have a large amount of stickies, faq's and a large user base means questions are awnsered really quickly. Not trying to make people not ask here, but all the faq's make some good reading overclock.net |
