Is there a way to run a tracert that shows the path to a node, and the path back again, rather than just the path there?

or does it always come back via the route it got there?

hmm, tracert is OK, doesn't like tracer0ute....

I need to to know the route from a node to me, not from me to a node :)
However, as they may well be routed differently due to being on a different network/ISP, my tracert is somewhat pointless I noticed

Thats right, the only way to get a "reverse traceroute" is to do it from your intended destination host (ie this server). I think that slappy is going to be the key to your puzzle here :) (I did read a post quite a time ago explaining that the error was due to some sort of anti spam/hack thing he was messing with). If you really wanted the tracert back then he could do it for you fro this server. but seeing as you get served an error page from this server then I suspect that there is no netowk connectivity issue here.
