Post subject:  Ok slight desktop icon problem

Ok this evening was downloading and .exe when my net connection cut out so i tried dling again however forgot to delete the previous attempt however I couldn't do it (the new file dled as same name with (1) after it) tried several things to get rid of the damm icon acoording to properties it contains no data but i cannot get rid of it. it keeps saying its being used by another file or program and i cannot work out wtf it is, I've tried cleeaning everythign with CC cleaner and I still can't get rid of the damm thing any ideas?

also check task manager for running processes and try to end task.

done all the above apart from safe mode will try that.....

Boot into "safe mode with command prompt".

Then delete it from there. Worked everytime I tried to delete things that came up with "cannot delete, file in use" etc.
