OK, I have 90% identified the problems I've been having to thumbnails.

If I open my My Vidoes folder, the computer crashes until I end My Videos, and dumprep....i've copied My Videos onto a new folder, without thumbnails, and it works fine, until I turn thumbnails on, then it crashes.

How do I fix this?

Dont use thumbnails?

I believe windows has a hissy fit if it has to load too many thumbnails at once....i mean, how much pr0n...I mean family holiday videos do you have? If its alot in one folder, try sorting them into different folders etc.

they are in different folders, but the problem is they were all transferred from my old computer to my new computer via FTP, so its loading....638 thumbnails (well not quite, about 1/3 are movs) at once

they are all in differnt folders, but its still got to generate thumbnails for all of them as it displays the folders with 4 thumbs on them

and its not pron....

so how do i disable thumbnails withough having to go into the folder?

try the cache/do not cache thumbnails option ?

usually won't work on My Pictures, unless you move it.
