Post subject:  Fonts gone weird

I have started noticing on some websites that my fonts are playing up, it happens alot on some eBay acutions and also on the site in the screenshot. Any ideas what could be doing this, and how to fix it? As you can see the font is really messy but I cant figure out why this would happen....Its where it says Get Stats Top 10 etc, the yellow bits I blurred myself.

Try holding Ctrl and pressing the +/- keys (or ctrl and mouse wheel).

No theme thingy running, how do i check for clear type?

The other things is that I have nearly 1400 fonts and not sure if that could be a reason why or not? I also use mozilla firefox but the problem shows in internet explorer too.

Sites like yahoo etc are fine, its sites like the one above which is hxxp://www.bf2s.com that has gone weird on me. Also this auction has the problem with my machine also by doing as it is above. hxxp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-43-TRON-HAND-BU ... dZViewItem

When I visit hxxp://www.bf2s.com the font appears as times new roman (likely because I dont have the font).

Right in the css (custom stylesheet) of the website mentioned you can see the style :

www.bfts.com's css style sheet wrote:
body.home h2 {
font: normal 28px/.8em Slyphaen, Times, serif;
letter-spacing: -.025em;
border-bottom: 1px solid #c2bfb6;
margin: 1em 0 0 0;
padding: 0;
clear: both;
}

Highlighted in red is the font name (which I dont have). In green is the secont choice font which is times. Seeing as this issue appears in both IF and FF it smaks to me of a windoes settings issue, ite either cleattype not being set (Control Panel > Display properties > Appearance Tab > Effects > Cleartype in the second dropdown ). Or it just the font which could be badly designed to not have proper anti aliasing.

<im just kidding> If its not that then I would advice gouging your your eyes with a sharp stick, that way crap looing webpages wont matter any more. </im just kidding>

Disclaimer : no responsibility will be accepted for sharp stick and eye related incidents..

Sylphaen is actually sylfaen could that be the reason it doesnt like my machine? The only font from them I dont have is 'serif'.

I have all of the fonts installed with my pc and the others I have are just ones I've downloaded or nicked from my games etc. If i could see a list of the default fonts then I could delete all the ones I have downloaded and add them one by one and find out the font causing the problems.
