Post subject: | CSS problems |
My game appears to be having a few odd problems. It appears to be very laggy when it is working, but it often has other troubles too. often i can only seem to look around and everything else freezes, similar to what sometimes happens with connection errors, only after a few seconds it returns to normal. Also the randomly during gameplay the yellow weapons icons you get on the right hand side during purchase at the beginning of the round appear on the side, and cause the problem i just mentioned to happen. The game is also generaly laggy, and just doesn't seem to want to work properly. ive never had a problem with css until now |

your internet is the problem it seems or your connection to the server try other servers, if you have the same problem you know its not server side then look at your rates 20000, 30, 30 are min recommended look at your cl_interp, 0.10 is the default so leave it roughly there make sure all back apps are closed that can use bandwith (inc pc's on a network if you are on one) you on wireless, ethernet? your isp? |

As mike says, it is a problem regarding your internet. Main reason for things like that, is that you get out of sync, with the server. I Would guess you are on a wireless connection. This would be the problem. If not, there might be some choke, and even packet loose on the connection. |

Isn't he on about FPS problems too? If so this is the case, I am master of the FPS gaining.. Change resolution to 800x600, (or even lower if you can handle it, i can). Turn all graphics down to low.. If that seems to help some of the problems, there are many more guides on making your performance increase more, by going into config and getting rid of many graphics . If he's not on about FPS related stuff, reinstall CSS?? |

general browsing is very different to when playing games as you're not demanding constant transmission of data packets msn, not a demanding prog either for bandwith make sure all download/bandwith using applications are turned off.. (limewire etc) make sure you dont have any spyware that could be contacting servers (i had that and was causing bad lag) use proggies like lavasoft adaware, avg virus scanner to see if you pick anything up it's possible it could just be the quality of your connection are you upgrading line speed by any chance by the way or in the process of doing so? Also are you on a Network at home?? sharing bandwith? people doing anything that may make you lag on the internet on a network? (may have a program open or downloading etc) network secured? could be a neighbour stealing your bandwith ? lol |

well. the short answer to all of those is no only one other computer. only used for email internet etc. i use norton, ad-aware etc There's nothing you mentioned which is likely to cause a problem |
