Recently bought this game, however, whenever I start playing, within 5 minutes the sound starts going all funny - it starts going all scratchy/echoey/muffled.

Any ideas as to why it's happening/how to fix it?

Ta.

Type

dxdiag

in run box.

Then go to sounds, and knock the audio hardware acceleration down one notch at a time til it (hopefully) resolves it.

Even though you may be able to fix this, I would seriously consider buying a decent soundcard and disabling the onboard chipset one you have :)
