ok..had myself a firewire pci card..worked well...
plugged in the camera...(recognised... canon etc...)
used nero(which i already had to capture..which it did sweetly...)
anyway.... now come to it..... plugged in camera...didnt detect it...niether did it give the option anywhere..in nero..or windows movie maker...to use that device as a capture...)
there are no driver for this cam..as windows should recognis it...
anyway..im stumped...
the firewire card seem ok...  _________________   Went to a zoo, they only had one animal there, a dog............. It was a shitzu.... I’z leakin… bring amberlamps

Hmm, go to device manager and see if its listed in there anywhere or something? If so it should be under a yellow question mark or something..and fiddle around with that :/?

Is there some sort of mode that you have to set on the camera for PC transfer?

nope..

did you plug the camera then switch on and set to shoot mode?

aye..
its an mvx 460..
done everythinmg th manual says..and more...
