I use it to watch DVD's as I've mis-placed my intervideo DVD codec CD thingy that came with my GFX card. I find that the colour balance is often a bit weird though, kind of dark red. Only with DVD's though, not avi etc. The server part of its great though, means I can watch a DVD wirelessly on my laptop when the disc is in the desktop on the other side of the house (computer chair ftl when watching films  ).
