ok i dont know why, but my computer is goin super slow. I have a D-link...wireless internet...and it says that im getting low- to no signal constantly. oh and i normally get an excellent signal. so i dont know why its messed all of a sudden either Pages take forever to load and i can run cs but soon as the game starts it keeps booting me back to the desktop. Ive already ran my anti-virus and anti-spyware programs as well as defragged my computer.....nothing came up and it didnt help.. I have no idea what happened! it was fine last week and just this past week its been acting up like crazy. Is it somethin to do with the wireless signal? or do i perhaps have a virus of some sort on my computer that my programs arent picking up. someone help please...this sucks, i cant do anything cause its taking forever to load and i cant even play cs btw...im on trillo right now and the ping keeps skyrocketing up past 1500!!!! then goes back down to 120 ish then shoots back up...wtf? |

Try resetting your router and internet box. (Just unplug, leave for 30 secs then replug) see if that helps. Resetting a router/box can solve alot of problems. Failing that, has the wireless hub been moved recently? Buy a cable? ? |

try running spyware progs make sure there are no like objects that kill radio waves resting between the router and the pc, because things like hair dryers/mirrors etc are bad for wireless |

also can u determine whether your pc in general is just being slow? or whether its specifically a internet browsing thing.. i know u said css crashing to desktop and stuff..which suggests otherwise check to make sure your pc hardware hasn't changed (like incase a stick of ram has failed or something, that might explain why its being slow - but yer i know ur a pc noob and u probly duno how to do stuff like that, of what is was before etc.. might just be an ISP issue like slappy said though |

i have a Dlink as well and its usually always got excellent signal, but when it starts going slow i just do this. oh and if it doesnt work if i turn it off for an hour or so then its fine after that.. (had this problem last 3 sundays for some reason) |

or also....if its adsl...log onto the router.... and check the stats... see what the noise margin ration db loss is....... if its less than 5 downstream that will result in slow page loading....less that 1..you lose connection... ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 1152 kbps 288 kbps Line Attenuation 59.0 db 31.5 db Noise Margin 14.4 db 19.0 db |
