Post subject:  RAM Doesn't Work :<

My new Buffalo PC3200 RAM doesn't work in the computer, after putting it in, it burnt off 2 pins. Also the monitor didn't come on..

Oh and also I have some other 256mb RAM that doesn't work with it either..the slot is fine though as I have tried my 512mb in it and it works fine.

Image - Mine has 2 of these pins burnt off, woot.

Any ideas?

(I wrote loads more on this before but I accidently closed the window and lost it all, and cba to rewrite) -.-

Comp spec;

- Installed memory: Elixir 512mb PC3200 RAM (One slot left).
- Windows XP
- Radeon 9600xt

- Anyone think that buying Elixir RAM may make it work?

----EDITTTTTTT--- Ok Novatech nicely replaced my old RAM and I got some new stuff that works a treat :).

Just cos it wasn't before. doesn't mean it ain't a faulty piece of ram. Just tell them you put it in and didn't work. basically dead on arrival :D

Aye will do, reminds me of a time I went into an old place thats shut down now, as I was buying something this fat guy came in next to me and went 'This motherboards as dead as a dodo, replace it please'..

Never forgot it some reason :P.

also sort out the mobo/psu - if its burnt thats usually too much voltage which is a PSU problem - its worth checking the voltages on each of the pins coming out...
