So.... it's time for a new laptop :)

• AMD Turion™ 64 X2 TL-60
• 2 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB
with an ATI Radeon Xpress1150 graphics system.

or

• Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7200
• 2 GHz , 4 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB
With an Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950.

Other than that, they are near enough identical - someone give me a clue as I've never sold/used AMD stuff in my life :wink:
EDIT- the Intel has a better screen (widescreen/ultra black WXGA versus standard XGA) which is neither here nor there really...

the intel chips have much better power comsumption which is what you really want in a lappie.

Ive recently got a 1.6 Core 2 and am very happy with it, got the larger battery and get about 5.5 - 6 hours light use out of it. 1280x800 screen 100 gig HD, Radeon 1400, 1 Gig Ram

Unfortunately dell ftw in my case, very pleased with the £680 price tag as well and that included a nice 'doesnt look like im carrying a laptop' backback

the 4mb of lvl 2 cache on the intel is much better than the measily 512kb you have on the amd :)

don't know what's better graphics cardwise though :?

but seeing as they're both low-end i'm guessing the laptop's for mobility reasons and won't be serving as a desktop/game machine replacement anyway :)

i'd go for the intel one ;)

Intel graphics GPU pretty pants, if your going to want to play any games on it that require any graphics capability imo, but if not that bothered or you only want to stretch your laptop to a bit of age of empires type gaming now and again then I'd go for the intel.

AMD = £700 + VAT (HP EY351ET)
Intel = £739 + VAT (HP RH410ET)

We've got one of each in stock at work, so my budget = one of these :lol:
