Anyone know where to obtain a program that scans your processes and detects which ones are actually useful?

I have lots on my startup and so I wanna just see if their worth the space :P.

download hijackthis - dont go removing them without googling them
you might want to look at proccess explorer as well

you can use the msconfig command to remove them - they are easy to put back via msconfig if you find something has now stopped working.
