Hi, Well, where to start really, basically i had my comp on xp,then it was fookin up,so i installed xp x64.It all installed ok and i installed the drivers for the soundcard etc.......Installed bf2 and all i get is a flickering screen that is enuff to give you seizure.Installed black hawk down, load the mission and i just get nothin but colours and stuff. I checked in the device manager and both 6600s are showing up.So i installed delta force land warrior and when i go to play it i get this message- "Your windows virtual memory swap files is less than the minimum recommended 140mb,you may have to alter the video settings" Hmm odd,Anyone got any thoughts on the matter, iam a complete nob wen it comes to this sort of thing, amd3500+ 2gb ram 2x6600 120gb hd I think i may have to take it to a shop, but any advice would be much appreciated.THANKS. EDIT:hmmm, jus installed gtr2 and strangely it worked although at spa some of the road surface was see thru and white objects kept flickering on the screen for a min,but i still have no idea. All the best Dan |

Try some different graphics card drivers, xp64 can be a pain for driver support! |

Hmm, try going into.. Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> 'Performance' Settings -> Advanced = Then under Virtual memory make sure that says something over 140mb.. If thats not it, then I have no idea. |

it could be sli issues, try running one card and see how that goes. or.... your not going to like this answer i know some one on xp64, and basically he found there are virtually no games that will run on it. cs:s and oblivion being the exceptions. games just werent made to run on xp64 and so they dont. shrek |

Kinda defeats the objective of having a x64 CPU, but I think you with AMD they enabled you to put it down to 32bit (x86) for backwards compatability, there just aren't enough programs using 64bit at the moment and 32bit is still what 90% of the worlds programs? I guess it'll become the latest tech someday, but not now, lol. EDIT: Also, why not make a dual boot with 64bit and 32bit windows? Surely that would make it easier for playing the games you want, also is there no backwards compatibility within Windows x64 to support x86 (sorta like what they did by making Windows 98 compatability) |

(i didnt realise that it used to work) shrek |

Hi guys thanks for all the info. Well i have things running to an extent,i tried some different drivers an bf2 sort of works.I also noticed that i wasnt using sli,so enabled that, anyway i get some weird texture problems on bf2 and more project reality,i have a screen shot but i dont know how to attach it to the post . I only have xp x64,but my mate does have a xp version that fell off the back of a lorry so to speak. So i may install that. Anyway some of the textures on bf2 they are like green and it looks like theres a rainbow in there aswell, its quite odd tbh.Do you think this is still to do with the drivers. All the best Dan |

All the best Dan Uploading a Screenshot, most people use an image hosting place, I use photobucket personally, but you can upload it to a website that you own if you have one. Once you've uploaded the image, you attatch it with Quote:

Give em another couple of years, they'll sort the drivers out eventually. |

most ppl will be running vista by then. and xp64 will become like windows ME, a dead end OS that no one uses or supports. XP64 was only created to allow sciene type ppl to run over 3Gb of ram as vista was behind time. shrek |
