Hello clever people,

I have a problem, picked up a nasty poxy virus on my computer and the only way to rid it was to purchase spy sweeper :(, the only good thing was currency exchange rates only made this a tenner :)

However the crux of my problem is i can no longer ctrl-alt-delete as i it says your administartor has disabled task manager......i'm the poxy administrator.....so my question is how do i sort this.

Any help, please make it very very simple....would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Piers

System restoring your PC back to before you got the virus is probably easiest

dont format- restore and download proccess exporer - see what the virus has binded to and kill the proccess , you should be able to delete the virus files without being told its currently in use

I take it you have tried the obvious http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Taskmanager_error.htm

Method 4 would be the best to try first.
