Hello clever people, I have a problem, picked up a nasty poxy virus on my computer and the only way to rid it was to purchase spy sweeper , the only good thing was currency exchange rates only made this a tenner However the crux of my problem is i can no longer ctrl-alt-delete as i it says your administartor has disabled task manager......i'm the poxy administrator.....so my question is how do i sort this. Any help, please make it very very simple....would be much appreciated. Cheers Piers |

My dad tells me he had this problem just a few days ago.....he went and reset his machne before letting me find a solution If some1 has an easier method i'd love to hear it. |

give yourself admin rights. can you logon as admin? im guessing your account doesnt have admin priveleges |

System restoring your PC back to before you got the virus is probably easiest |

what if the virus has entrenched itself in system restore though sometimes happens |

dont format- restore and download proccess exporer - see what the virus has binded to and kill the proccess , you should be able to delete the virus files without being told its currently in use |

I take it you have tried the obvious http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Taskmanager_error.htm Method 4 would be the best to try first. |
