Zalman (FS-C77) 775/478/754/939/940 Copper 108406 1 in stock £23.55 £23.55
Do you think I can justify spending this much money if it means I don't have to upgrade for years and years as it's a dx10 card etc. >_>
Or am I just being stupid.
I am so nervous to buy all this stuff as I am scared I am going too overboard, any suggestions? =/

I'm pretty sure all that is compatible...
But this will be the first pc I am building myself so I am so nervous and don't wanna buy the wrong parts.
Mayeb I should have practised on a cheap one first.

WTF?
Where did you get that setup from?
Looks 99% like mine setup!
P5B - Good stuff, i got that one. Works great
E6600 - I were supposed to get this CPU, but they didnt have it in stock for a loong time
Corsair Ram - You never go wrong with them
The WD HDD - I were supposed to buy this, but i went for another one as they werent as expensive, and had a lower rate of failure
8800GTS - Good stuff, highend ftw.
The Hiper PSU - I got the same(Its just black).. I lub it

boo hiss on the PSU, get an antec
if you're getting the zaalman, get the 6300 instead and overclock it

The hiper PSU works like a charm, and is damn sexy!
But dont overclock! Its not worth the hassle when it breaks and you cant get a replacement because you broke the warrantey.

looks good
maybe even add something?
a standalone soundcard?
(the onboard one might be good enough but everyone always says even a cheap pci one is better than any onboard ... )

if you like to listen to a wee bit of music, get a x-fi.
Its 30-50£. So its quite cheap.

good spec imo, could save some money and go fro the E6300 and overclock (and tbh the 6300 wont limit your GTS, not in games anyway)

I'm not prepared to overclock, I'd rather keep it all comfortable.

Well, I just practically rebuilt my pc, and it seems to be working now.
Basically just don't worry about it, I found the manuals provided more than enough to sort out the wires and such. Just read them through and try to get an idea of what your doing first. I nearly had a heart attack when I installed my heatsink, for a moment I thought I had to take out my mobo and start all over again.
Oh and if the computer doesn't start up the first time, just relax, take the case of, and spot the one thing you forgot to plug in.
Plus these guys are great tech support.

Dunno if it's the same with Intel, but if you buy a Retail Athlon chip, it comes with a stock heatsink & fan.
Might be worth confirming this is also the case with Intel chips before you buy the Zalman.

Before you do it though, make sure you got some IT savy friend locally who can look at it as backup. The reason is it can be a bugger if you do get a problem...

basically just read up on it before you start, micromart were running a 'building a pc' pull out section when i was doing mine and i read all the manuals, twice!
i even took out all the components, just to get the hang of what goes where
and then, once i was satisfied with the knowledge i gained, i started my very first build.
piece of cake
i was lucky, to say the least, i had no problems whatsoever and it such a relieve to see your 'baby' boot up first time and i know nothing about pc's
Dr.Strangelove - still a n00b
oh and good luck
