Hey all i was just wondering if the following is possible.
Have two hard drives both IDE.
Then have one SATA drive also.
If so is there anything i would need to do to configure it?

Well ive got two sata connectors on the mobo and two ide's so i thought just a case of putting the two ide's as slaves and the sata as a master?

The master/slave thing only occurs on IDE channels
You can either have the IDE drives on one channel and master/slave, plus the SATA drive on it's own port.
Or, stick one IDE drive onto each IDE channel, and have the CD/DVDs etc as slaves, again the SATA drive is on its own port.
You may need to check the boot order in the BIOS, depending if you want to boot from SATA or IDE

DO NOT slave the CD-ROMs off of the HDDs as you'll slow the HDD transfer rate down to CD speeds when they're active
Read your motherboard manual to see if you can mix IDE & SATA drives, although most boards can

I guess you currently boot from your IDE drive(s). This is probably an option in your BIOS. It will be set to boot from IDE. You'll have to change that to SATA or RAID-SATA or something similiar to that when you've connected your SATA drive to boot from it.
The motherboard manual should have some info on that. Might be handy to post what kind of motherboard you have btw

Um, if it's this board - hxxp://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=K7VT6-C - it doesn't have SATA ports
