Post subject:  dual moniters

set up my hdtv as a 2nd moniter, but is it possible to make things STAY on the 2nd moniter, ie playing cs:s on one, with msn on the other but when i join a msn chat it comes up on screen 1?

also when playing things like vanguard when i go to use the 2nd moniter with these forums on or anything for that matter vanguard n or any game minimises?

is it possible to have the start bar over both screens too?

i tried to do that aswell, but no luck with stock windows, my guess is you'll need an extra program for it :?

I tried asweel and I have the same problem. Finally I got it to stay on monitor 2, but in any case when someone send me a message, CSS minimized the window. This is very annoying, at least it works with steam friends. Now my chats are on the right screen, and CSS on the left. But i don't know for msn :( . Need help aswell if someone know. Thank you guys

My msn chat doesn't interfere with css. I have the toolbar on my second monitor as well as having vent, msn, temps etc. if a message arrives it just flashes orange, not sure how it differs from you guys.

You cant have the start bar across 2 screens if you want independant monitors, you can if you use them as 1 great big screen.

Ill look at my messenger settings tomorrow.

When i used 2 screens if someone spoke on msn on the other screen while on css it would put css to the task bar when i clicked the messanger box :?

I still have to alt-tab out of the game to write messages and stuff but it doesn't force css to minimize.

i am using the live beta version of messenger

why dont you set CSS to play in a window (stretched to fill the left screen) then you will be able to go between the two?

I use windows with three screens three main screens and occasionally the TV as a forth. my usage usually either:

1) Use 3 screens and alt tab out of a game to click or type

left = Messaging & temp / usage monitoring
centre = browseing / gaming
right = winamp, media centre, videos, secondary websites

2) have only one screen active during an SLI session, use the other two screens on a separate PC.

left = PC2 messaging
centre = game
right = PC2 other

:)

Been sniffing around google and come up with this http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/overview/ haven;t had a chance to play with it yet but it looks like it might be the answer :D

The ultramon software is awesome, love having the extended task bar on the second monitor and then all the progs that are running in tht window coming up on that toolbar. Unfortuanetly there justsin;t a way of running css fullscreen and then it not minimizing when you alt-tab or click on say a MSN chat box :( Think you've either got to get 2 pc's or play css windowed :S
