I just installed the hardware, put WinXP Pro onto it (32bit). If you need specs, look in this thread http://www.gamecommunity.co.uk:8080/vie ... hp?t=38149 well, it now freezes on startup until I press alt+ctrl+del, then a min later it'll unfreeze, I just installed a clean copy today and it's already freezing? O.o any suggestions? |

Sounds like it could be a driver issue, is everything ok in Device manager? Could also be resource conflict, as in hardware resources, have you disabled everything you dont need in the bios, eg Parallel and serial ports.. Also does it do it in safe mode? |

Hmmm~ I'll have to check that o.0. Well, if it sounds like a BIOS problem or a Driver problem (if drivers I think I know the problem) then I'll play around a little more tonight after school. I thought it'd probs be drivers, but the hardware seems ok. And the BIOS is the same as when I installed Windows. (firstly it was ok when booting, installed some drivers etc and it stopped booting nicely. >.>) Thanks Simon |

------ Not purposefully spamming ------- I just booted into Safe Mode and it booted instantly. I think it could be my nVidia drivers or my sound drivers (seeming as they are the only ones I have installed.) Anyways, see you guys tonight. Hope you can help find the solution before I do |

I had similar problem with my USB webcam when I upgraded a month ago. Its was fine on my old motherboard and on this one its fine just being plugged in, but as soon as you start viewing the cam the computer totally freezes, still not worked whats causing it so got a new one cam in the end. Something you can also try is to unplug all your usb devices, re-start and see what happens. If it stops doing it then plug them in one by one re-booting in-between... |

I had this problem I had a version of XP with SP2 built in, trouble is the motherboard drivers that were in the mix caused a conflict and locked the pc. I had to install XP, without any SP, then do drivers then do SP2 install. Later i obtained a later version of XP with SP2 built in without the driver issues. Simple point it that it could be the install media... |

Me too. The IDE drivers and firewall from nVidia are pure shit. You may also want to choose not install the nVidia ethernet drivers too. Marvell update the drivers much more frequently than nVidia so I get 'em direct from Marvells site. |
