Ok so bout time I put a new system together, but completly out of date with graphics cards. Just want to know a few things if ya don't mind. The systems not going to be a complete gaming system, and since my old one's a xp2200 with a Gforce 6800 128Mb most things are probably going to be a huge improvement. SLI/ Crossfire. Is it worth it? Or should I only care about it if I want a ninja games machine. G-force 8800GTS worth paying that bit extra for a 320MB one at the moment, over say a ATI? |

not sure what you want or what you want to spend but i would get an 8800gtx over 320gts sli. the gtx can run any game on max at full res.the only reason you would go sli is for benchmarks |

Other components are. Core dou 6300 Motherboard sorta depends on these questions. 2GB Ram I'll dig a proper spec list out, budgets alright reasonably flexible. Same goes for some twin graphics card set-up is it worth investing in a board that does this or do you see it as being only for the extreme games machine. |

if you want to buy in to top end (and 8800 or R600) then WAIT! once ATi gets their ass in gear and gets the cards out (end of this month) then nV will drop prices and intro some new cards (8800Ultra). in 20-30day you could save yourself £50-100 or get a fast card. shrek |

NOt worried about building a gamin pc tbh. just one that can run games if ya get the difference. And SLI/ Crossfire worth it? As for the card I am tempted by a cheaper ATI one at the mo over a 8800 and waiting to see what happens. |

if your not gonna run games at high res the i would seriously think about a 320mb 8800gts.it will play any game, maybe not on max but will definitely hadle them and its dx10 so ur future proof.top end 8800gts is gonna set you back £215 for the 320mb version and £285 for the 640mb.the 640mb will games at a much hihger res than the 320mb. if you compare that to a top end ati card (x1950xtx) that costs £260.....i know which one i would buy if your not worried about a gaming pc then you dont even need to think about sli i think nvidia are gonna be bringing out a 8600 to.somot to think about . |
