when ever i restart or turn on my computer on of the svchost.exe is running at 100% for about 30 minutes and it takes ages for things to load any idea what it is making it run at 100%? i believe it is sound drivers but i have tried reinstalling different ones (after removing the last ones)
and should there be that many of them?

scvhost is anything thats connecting to the internet or something...or a service thats connecting to the internet....so its some program...

run msconfig, have a look at the startup thingies and see what you don't need, deselect it...

Basically each svchost contains a list of services to be run in windows, sometimes it can contain a malicious program like a virus, to check what services each svchost is running load command prompt and type "tasklist/svc" without the " marks and hit enter, then scroll to each svc task and check the services its running
