switch my pc on,the windows screen appears on the monitor with the blue loading bars,then normally it goes to desktop and everything loads up and the nice windows sound can be heard,,but now it goes from the windows loading up screen to a blank black screen,i can hear the windows sound,,thought it might of been graphics related but surely the windows screen wouldnt appear on my monitor,,any advice would be welcome,,took pc apart and checked all wires

try it in safe mode - tap the F8 key as it boots to get the menu up. If you get a display, set your screen to 800x600 or something then reboot. |

If safe mode doesnt work, starting in safe mode where you approve each part of the load can point to a problem, really boring and long winded though. |
