Started building my first PC last night....
What a stress......probably my fault for not having patience and the right tools, but it wasnt as bad ( so far )......
1 ) Installed the Power Supply
2 ) Slid the processor into the mobo
3 ) Installed the big heatsink ( inc bolting to backplate )
4 ) Installed DVD Drive
5 ) Installed HDD
6 ) RAM
7 ) GFX
8 ) Sound Card
inbetween trying to sort and connect all the power supply to the mobo and parts etc.... all fans working.....but the wires look a mess....will have to tidy I spose...
Powered her up without connection to a monitor, all fans working, GFX fan running, HDD Working, LEd lights on, power / reset working, but no power to the DVD drive.
Tonight I will try to solve that and then install from boot up, if anyone can give me advise about HDD configuation that would be great.
In all, worth it, very stressful, but still lot of works to do...

check that the bios settings is selected to use the right cable that the dvd-rw is connected too.

i have i think 1 smaller wire going into DVD, could be 2 but couldn't see properly.
also got a master IDE cable going into DVD from mobo, slave is just dangling not plugged into anything
i have a sata hdd
you want to get your HDD and DVD both using masters if you have enough wires.. i think

just done some reading.....
on the mobo there are 2 power things ( think 16 pin and 4 pin ), dont think ive plugged the 4 pin block in ( next to each other ).
Maybe that one is the key to getting it working......damn wires everywhere.......

i have sata 2 and have power and a red lead plugged into mobo....hdd appears to start when power is on, DVD is dead as a dead person..

the molex is the name for the power connecters from your psu...... 4 pin female type...
try plugging your dvd into a known working plug..ie..your old pc...
