Try cleaning it again and then have it (without keys) sitting in the window or near a heater (keep an eye on it).

If that doesn't work them it's probrably busted....and I hear laptop keyboard replacements can get expensive.

do you need to use it 'portably' - cos you could always lug a usb keyboard in.

seems worrying that rather than not working, the keys are replacing themselves with other letters - sounds like you take sugar ?

Yeah its normally the sugar that does it... Even without sugar it can take a couple days to dry out... The fat in milk don't help neither..

House insurance?

And £200 to replace? The laptop i am looking to buy (well, be bought) only costs another £100 on top of that (yeah, it's a pants laptop - but it's only to run a few programs like Eclispe, Netbeans and Visual Studio)

IIRC, Slappeh recommended lifting all the keys off, then scrubbing the underlying board vigorously with soapy water and a brillo pad. This makes sure that there is no stale milk smell, or sticking afterwards.

You could use kitchen roll to dry it off, but I find a hairdryer blasts the remaining water out of the way and into the voids inside the case typically used for battery drainage, but same thing applies here.

Hope his advice helps :)
