Post subject: | DNS errors |
I wondering if someone can gve me a hand or a lesson in networks. I have a ps3, xbox 360 and p.c connected to a belkin router via ethernet. im having problems with all 3, all the errors returned are some sort of DNS error. im unable to connect to alot of things. my router is connected to a ADSL 8mb line from Orange. in the router setup i can see two DNS IP addresses that have 1 character differance between them. all addressed are assigned to the p.c xbox or ps3 via DHCP. Does anyone know whether the problem is with the router or my ISP? i dont see how it can be the device as all 3 are having the same problem but i may be wrong there... Any help would be greatly appreciated and if u want any more info say and i can provide thanks guys |

The easiest way to do this is on your equipment where u enter in the DNS address, put the address of your netgear router. Then it should all be fine. Give that a go and if it doesnt solve the problem let us know |

Give that a go and if it doesnt solve the problem let us know lol forcey read what he said again its a belkin router and his equipment is assigned addresses via DHCP if u want to set up everything manually or by static ip addressing then do what forcey said, if not read below Do a soft reset of your router first and ur modem if u have one, then release and renew the DHCP settings on your comp and consoles, if none of that works try plugging the cable that goes into the router directly into your pc se if u get a connection, if that works theres a prob with the router or the DCHP settings and if it dosent then its with ur isp/net connection. once u know which one is the prob it will be easyier to resolve |
