my mate is having a problem, she cant access anything by Firefox, internet explorer or anything... she has been trying for a few days using isp discs but i cant really help her as she lives kinda far away 
she can get on msn which would b how i would tell her to do what she needs to do but thats about all she can do any ideas? |

More info needed, What happens when she tired firefox for say http://www.google.co.uk? Also has she tried to pina and tracert google ? (start > run > cmd > ping http://www.google.co.uk ) (start > run > cmd > tracert http://www.google.co.uk ) |

ok when she goes on google it just says website cannot be displayed thats with internet explorer and bt explorer pinging google says "its not recognised as an internal or external command" and tracert google didnt work either came up with the same message |

hey maddog can you get here to do the ping thing again but this time ping this 66.249.93.104 (its the actual IP of google) It shouldnt really come back and say unrecognised command. Make sure she is typing everything right. the ping command should be issued in the cmd window that comes up after typing "cmd" in run and hitting enter. If this works, try the http://www.google.com again and post the results here if you can. Lastly who is here ISP? |
