 Post subject: Should i be worried?

Recently, like in the last 24hours my fan has been getting increasingly noisy, and i am getting quite concerned, any ideas why its getting so noisy?

Either its just worn out (The generic ones arn't always built that well, which can come down to how well the blades are balanced or it has dust build up.... you maybe be able to http://news.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/0,1000000091,2135514,00.htm but its probably had it. Its may not running at full speed neither which could cause over heating problems...

As he said, if its gone its probably a bearing, open your case, check its not lose clean dust of the fan blades, and if it still rattles after that, you should look at a new fan, they're pretty cheap though.
