ok .. so installed nvidia drivers, then i installed over the top of them some beta nvidia drivers.. a few months later...(i know i know not the way your supposed to do it)

anyway i decided to do it properly so i uninstalled the current drivers then used driver cleaner to clean up the nvidia files left over...i then installed the beta drivers once more .. and works fine

However something i am convinced is related...... STEAM is doing strange things...that aren't exactly Graphics related... just behaviour... i have had this before... but it went away.. not sure when or why or what caused it..

so the problems are

a) favourite list has disappeared!

b) Everytime i connect to a server .. on any steam Game, I lose connection to it within like 10 seconds of joining... every time....but the second time i connect to it it wont lose connection.. just the first time

I'm convinced its related... anyone got a clue..

i think that it checks for nvidia driver versions and then doesn't like it for some reason.....so it disconnects me ?

Did you run that utility(cant remmeber the name sorry) that cleans your pc of all nvidia drivers before installing the newer drivers.

I personally hate nvdia drivers they do my head in get so many problems with them with the exception of Source games
