Ok so my music goes insanely loud when I use my speakers, but as soon as I put my earphones / headphones in it just doesn't go loud enough (I need it to be loud enough to drown out my brothers crap). Do I need more expensive earphones / headphones? Or is it a new soundcard? Or am I just screwed.. |

try using different headphones and i will leave it to you to weigh up the option of new headphones or soundcard Q. whats with the '123' and firefox/ebuyer in your sound options is that a 'special' thing with vista? |

Yea vista allows you to turn down volume for programs you've loaded up, so if something lame is playing in Firefox and I want to listen to my music, I can mute it, or if someone's wasted on Vent and I cba to mute on that, I'd do it using sound menu like in the screenie . There is little benefit of having Vista over XP, however this is an example of one. |

I'd say its your headphones. I had no problems with mine until now that they're dropping sound completely (loose wire) but the sound is also a lot lower than before. It could be your sound card too but I'd say try some headphones first. |
