Ok, this isn't for me, but someone I know has the following :

Dell 0WJ770 motherboard
Pentium 4 3.00ghz cpu
512mb ddr2-sdram

Wants to make it something a little better than it is now.

So Ram upgrade and graphics card, what's te best options?

Can anyone help him out?

Cheers in advance.

Had a look and I dont think you can upgrade the graphics because that motherboard doesnt have free slots apart from PCI (not PCI Xpress) and a 1x PCI Xpress slot which they dont make graphics cards for.

It takes a socket 775 chip but I doubt it will take a new Core 2 chip.

Think the only thing you can do is add RAM

Buy a bundle :

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... 39&subcat=

116 for a motherboard, Core 2 Duo E2140 (1.6) 1gb ram. (can get a much better bundle for about 250 quid cd 2.4, 2gb ram)

Then buy a graphics card :

From 70 quid for a 8600GT
From 150 quid for a 8800GTS

If you do get the above think about getting a new PSU, anywhere from 50 to 100 quid.
