instructions are telling me i need to check a 20db microphone boost to get Teamspeak going Quote: to boost microphone go to control panel, sound and audio devices, in the device volume section click advanced, your sound board will now be displayed, click advanced buttun under microphone.
a window will pop up, at the bottom of that you'll see a section "other controls", check the box that says microphone boost. but these instructions don't follow true on my Vistahp. can someone translate them? |

control panel -> switch to classic -> Sound -> Click Recording Tab -> Select Microphone Properties -> Custom tab should have +20 boost all true till the end bit, there is no custom tab. I get 3 more tabs after clicking properties (General,Levels and Advanced) Closest thing to adjustments other than volume is in Advanced: a drop down for format (channel 16 bit etc) (wondered if being a Vista 32 bit with a 16bit confuddle...but i'd be talkin out of the wrong orifice lol) and that repeat key bell, sheez, i used to turn that off in XP by typing 'repeat key' in help, but i cant do that now :s :s |

My mic booost in Vista would be under levels, then second option down on there. Wat sound card and what mic you got, maybe if its a creative and you ghave the audio console enabled it isnt set to sync with windows settings, (should be an opton in the audio console) |

I only got 1 option: 'Headset Microphone' - a vol slider Quote: Wat sound card and what mic you got, maybe if its a creative and you ghave the audio console enabled it isnt set to sync with windows settings, (should be an opton in the audio console)
eek, ermmm, i got a C-Media CM6501 Like Sound Device , yes, i think that is the sound card and a Logitech USB headset. sooo... how do i check my sound card is in sync? I've got a CM6501 sound config program in Control Panel, that just has pretty pics of various speaker arrrangements. i cant select the headphone button in there for some reason. i dont think that is it. |

Umm couldnt say with that sound card, mines an x-fi, and sennys, and the craetive has its own bit of software on top for effects, but has an option to sync. Had a look on their site and checked their drivers, cos if its an onboard sound maybe a windows drivers update has screwed it....had that problem with the creative. |
