Could I connect a type of wireless transceiver to my cable router? So I could set up a wireless connection to another pc while keeping the other two pcs connected to the cable router.

yes you just have to be wary when you connect them together of their IP adresses, lots have the same defalt and that their not both DHCP servers and a couple of other things

Ah cool, I thought you could but I wanted to be sure before I did bought anything.

The most I've done with routers is port forwarding with a tutorial so I think I may need some help setting up the IP thing.

At the moment I have a Netgear RP614 4 Port DSL/Cable Router.
:)
